How to remove the lock or transfer ownership?

Do you want to stop using the Bold Smart Cylinder? Or would you like to pass it on to someone else? Then you can change the ownership in the app. First, select ‘Owner’ in the settings screen of the lock (at the bottom). Then, you will have three options:

1. Transfer to contact
If you select this option, you can transfer the lock to someone else. To do so, you need their phone number — which you may retrieve from the contact list.

The option ‘Transfer shares’ allows you to pass on existing users to the new owner, too. This way, nobody loses access to the lock, even though the Bold Smart Cylinder gets a new owner. This option is only recommended when the new owner is someone you know, such as a family member.

2. Transfer to an organization
Are you a member of an organization that manages locks? In that case, you can transfer the lock to this organization. Once you’ve selected the organization, you will be given the option to transfer shares (see option 1). A lock that’s intended for an organization is first installed by an individual, who then transfers the lock to the organization through this route.

3. Remove the lock
Select this option to remove the lock completely. Since the lock can no longer be used once you do this, it’s recommended that you disassemble the physical lock first. Subsequently, you can pass on the lock. A new owner can install it for themselves. All users have been removed from the lock, and the entire access history has been deleted.
