How to remove the lock or transfer ownership?

Need to stop using your Bold Smart Lock? Or looking to pass it on to someone else? Here’s how you can transfer ownership or remove your lock efficiently.

When you no longer need your Bold Smart Lock or wish to transfer it to another user, you can manage this easily through the Bold app. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth process.

You can only transfer the lock to someone who has access rights on the lock already. See how to add users here.

Transfer ownership to an existing user

  • Once the person has access rights, whether newly added or existing:
    • Select the specific Bold Smart Lock in the app.
    • Go to 'Manage' and choose 'Transfer to another user'.
    • Choose from the list of existing users on the lock to transfer ownership.

Transfer to an organization

  • If you are a Portal administrator of a Bold Business Portal organization, you can transfer the device to your organization.
  • Select the specific Bold Smart Lock in the app.
  • Go to 'Manage' and choose 'Transfer to organization'.
  • Select the organization in the Bold app and transfer ownership.

Uninstall the device

  • To completely remove the device, select ‘Uninstall device’ in the settings.
  • Disassemble the physical Bold Smart Lock before passing it on to the new owner.
  • This ensures all users are removed, and the access history is deleted.

Note: Once the transfer is complete, you will no longer have access to the device.
