Locking your door with the Bold Smart Lock is simple, secure, and adaptable to your needs. Below, we explain the three ways to lock your door, while ensuring optimal security and usability.
Option 1: Manually turning the inside knob
The inside knob of the Bold Smart Lock is always connected to the cylinder. Simply turn the knob on the inside of the door to lock or unlock it. Because this method works at all times (even without electronic activation), it is ideal for emergency exits.
Option 2: Briefly pressing the inside knob
When leaving the house, you can press the inside knob briefly. You will hear two beeps and see a green circle flash, indicating the Bold Smart Lock is active. At this point, you have between 5 and 120 seconds (adjustable in the Bold App) to exit and turn the outer knob to lock the door.
If you do not lock the door within the set activation time, the lock will deactivate automatically, and you will hear a single beep. If this happens, simply press the inside knob again to reactivate it.
Note: Always fully lock the door to ensure the highest level of security. If there is a handle on the outside of the door, the door can still be opened if it is only on the day lock. If there is no external handle, the door will remain securely locked in this state.
Option 3: Using the Bold App
You can also lock the door using the Bold App. After closing the door, activate the Bold Smart Lock via the app and turn the outer knob to lock it. This method is particularly convenient when you are already outside and do not want to reopen the door.
The inside knob always works to lock or unlock the door manually, while the outer knob only functions when it has been activated (by pressing the inside knob or via the Bold App).
For additional peace of mind, the Bold App logs every activation, so you can see who activated the lock and when. However, the Bold Smart Lock cannot detect whether the door is physically open or closed.
By choosing any of these three methods, you can lock your door securely and effortlessly, ensuring flexibility and safety in every situation.
