How can I use remote activation?

Learn how to control your Bold Smart Lock remotely with the Bold Connect.

To enable Remote Activation for your Bold Smart Lock, you will need a Bold Connect. The Bold Connect allows you to operate your lock from anywhere in the world.

When you are in front of your door, the Bold system will automatically choose the fastest connection method, whether that is Bluetooth or Remote Activation. Simply press the activation button on your Bold Smart Lock, and the Bold app will handle the rest. If you prefer to manually select the connection method, hold the activation button in the app to choose between Direct (Bluetooth) or Connect (Remote).

How can I tell if my lock is ready for remote activation?

If you are within Bluetooth range, the activation button in the Bold app will be orange. Once you move out of Bluetooth range, it will turn gray. However, if your Bold Smart Lock is successfully connected via Bold Connect, the activation button will remain orange even when you are outside of Bluetooth range. This indicates that your lock is available for Remote Activation.

Viewing connected locks and optimizing connection

To see all the Bold Smart Locks connected to each Bold Connect, go to Bold Connect: Settings > Connected Locks in the app. If you experience a slow connection, Remote Activation might not work effectively. To improve performance, place your Bold Connect within 1-3 meters of your Smart Lock and ensure there is a direct line of sight between them.

Preventing accidental remote activation

To avoid unintentional activation of your Bold Smart Lock from a distance, the Bold app will display a pop-up confirmation notification if you attempt to activate your lock when you are more than 100 meters away.

With these steps, you can confidently manage your Bold Smart Lock from anywhere, ensuring both convenience and security.
