How to use remote activation?

You’ll need a Bold Connect to enable Remote Activation. The Bold Connect allows you to operate your Bold Smart Lock from anywhere.

If you are in front of the door, the Bold system will choose the fastest connection, Bluetooth or Remote activation. Simply press the activation button of your Bold Smart Lock and the Bold app will do the rest. If you would like to specifically choose, you can hold the activation button in the app and choose for Direct (bluetooth) or with Connect (remote).


How do I know if my lock is available for Remote Activation?


As long as you’re within Bluetooth range, the activation button will be orange. But whenever you leave Bluetooth range, it will turn gray. If you’ve successfully connected your Bold Smart Lock using your Bold Connect, the activation button will remain orange when outside Bluetooth range. This indicates your Bold Smart Lock is available for Remote Activation.


Would you like to view a full list of all connected Bold Smart Locks for each Bold Connect, as well as the connection for a particular device? Head to Bold Connect: Settings > Connected Locks. If the speed of your connection is low, Remote Activation may not work. To fix this issue, we recommend having your Bold Connect within 1-3 meters of the Smart Lock and a direct line of sight.


To ensure you don’t accidentally activate your Bold Smart Lock from far away, you’ll get a pop-up confirmation notification whenever you’re more than a 100 meters away.
