What is the battery life of the Bold Smart Lock?

Under normal use, the battery of the Bold Smart Lock will last for at least 2 years or 20,000 activations.

This translates to approximately 25 activations per day. If you use the Bold Smart Lock more frequently, you will need to replace the battery more often. 

The battery status is visible in the Bold App. A connection between the Bold server and the lock needs to be established regularly — either through phone activation or a Bold Connect — for the battery status to be updated in the Bold app. You will receive a timely notification when the battery needs replacing. Additionally, if the battery status of your Bold Smart Lock remains unknown for too long, you will receive an email notification. 

The Bold Smart Lock requires a CR123A battery, which you can order online or purchase at all well-known DIY stores. We advise against using rechargeable CR123A batteries for the Bold Smart Lock. 

Once installed, the battery status of the Bold Smart Lock is updated immediately in the Bold App. However, when you replace the battery, it may take up to 24 hours for the new battery status to be available. If your Bold Smart Lock is still determining the battery status you will see this in the Bold app as 'Calibrate (24H)'.
