How does the Bold Controller work?
The Bold Controller allows you to integrate existing wired electronic locking systems, such as gates, garage doors, or central doors.
The Bold Controller allows you to control existing wired electronic locking systems—such as gates, garage doors or central building doors—easily and securely through the Bold ecosystem.
Every Bold Controller is equipped with a green on the back, specifically designed for this controller functionality.
Relay settings
You can configure the controller relay as either:

Normally open – the circuit will close upon activation.

Normally closed – the circuit will open upon activation.
Choose the setting that matches your electronic lock’s requirements. You can also customise the activation time anywhere between 5 and 120 seconds, or select Pulse mode for momentary activation—ideal for doors that require a quick trigger.

Activating the controller
To activate the lock, either:

Press the push button on the Bold Controller

Use the Bold App, just like you would with a Bold smart lock.
Before installation, check the specifications of your locking system to ensure compatibility. The relay can be programmed in the Bold App to suit different electronic locks, supporting a maximum switching current of 3A at 250VAC.
Installation tip: Connect your existing electronic lock to the 2-wire interface on the Bold Controller. Always verify the wiring specifications for a safe and reliable setup.
Controller and gateway in one device
A Bold Controller can be used simultaneously as a gateway and controller. Please note that the Bold smart lock and the Controller/Connect must be within a Bluetooth range of 1–3 meters to ensure an optimal connection.
