# What to do when the door is jammed?
## A jammed door is not an issue for the Bold Smart Lock. Unlike many motorized smart locks that require extra power to open, the Bold Smart Lock allows you to unlock the door manually, just as you would with a traditional key.
When using the Bold Smart Lock, you can apply as much force as you would with a standard cylinder lock, and often even more. This makes handling a jammed door straightforward and manageable, without relying on motor power.
However, it's important to note that while the Bold Smart Lock can help you open a jammed door, it will not resolve the underlying issue of the jam itself. A jammed or stiff lock is a common problem, and we recommend contacting a professional to address the root cause if the issue persists.
