How does the Bold Clicker work?

With the Bold Clicker, you can activate your Bold Smart Lock at the press of a button—no phone needed. It's the perfect solution for kids, elderly family members, or anyone who prefers simplicity.

Activate your lock with a click

The Bold Clicker is a compact remote control that allows you to activate any Bold Smart Lock within Bluetooth range by simply pressing the button.
Important: The Bold Clicker does not have an Auto-Activation feature. This functionality remains exclusive to the Bold app.

Access rights

Once you link the Bold Clicker to your Bold account, it automatically inherits your personal access rights. For example, if you have permanent or scheduled access to certain locks, your Clicker will reflect those same permissions.

Would you like to use your Clicker with someone else's Bold Smart Lock?
No problem. The lock owner can easily grant you permission through the app’s sharing screen, enabling your Clicker to activate their lock as well.

Connect to multiple locks

You can pair your Bold Clicker with up to 50 Bold Smart Locks. This makes it a versatile tool for both private and shared environments.

Battery life and replacement

The Bold Clicker runs on a CR2025 battery with an expected lifespan of over 4 years under standard use.
Please note: The battery is not designed for user replacement. If you suspect the battery needs to be replaced, Bold Support is happy to assist you.

Light indicators explained

Your Bold Clicker uses a light indicator to communicate its status:

  • Flashing red quickly: The Clicker cannot connect to a paired lock.

  • Flashing red slowly: The Clicker is in pairing mode, ready to connect to a lock.

These signals help you quickly understand your Clicker’s status and take the right action.

Firmware requirements

To use the Bold Clicker, always ensure your Bold Smart Lock is running the latest firmware version.
If you also use Bold Connect for remote activation, remember to update all your Connect devices to ensure smooth operation.

Activation history

Although the Bold Clicker operates offline, it does sync activation events to the Bold app the next time you activate your lock using your phone.
For more real-time updates, you can use the Bold Connect, which provides continuous synchronization.
