Use widgets to unlock your Bold Smart Lock faster, directly from your home or lock screen.

Widgets make using your Bold Smart Lock even faster and easier. By placing a widget on your home screen or lock screen, you can activate your lock with a single tap, no need to open the Bold app. Whether you are using an Android or Apple device, you can configure the widget to control a specific lock or automatically connect to the nearest one.

How to add a widget on Android phones

Add the widget

  • Long press an empty space on your home screen.

  • Tap Widgets.

  • Scroll to find the Bold widget.

  • Press and hold the widget, then drag it to your preferred spot on the home screen.

Configure the widget

  • Once placed, choose whether the widget should control a specific lock or connect to the nearest lock.

How to add a widget on Apple phones

Add the widget

  • Long press an empty space on your home screen.

  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Edit.

  • Tap the + icon in the top left corner.

  • Search for the Bold widget and tap Add Widget.

Configure the widget

  • Press and hold the widget, then tap Edit Widget.

  • Choose either a specific lock or Nearest lock.

  • Tap outside the widget to save your choice.

Troubleshooting tips

Widget not updating or responding?

You need to configure the widget before you can use it. You need to select either 'Nearest lock' or a specific lock from the list and then save the widget. Only after the configuration is done you can use the widget to open the door.

  • Make sure the Bold app is updated to the latest version.

  • Restart your phone to refresh widget performance.

Missing permissions?

  • Check that the Bold app has access to Bluetooth and location services. Without these, the widget cannot work correctly.
