Download the Bold app
If you have not yet downloaded the Bold app, you can do this via your respective app store for Android or iOS. The app is your central hub for managing your Bold Smart Lock.
Create a Bold account
When you first open the Bold app, you will see 3 options to create a Bold account. This can be done by registering with your Apple ID, Google account, or by registering with your phone number.
Register your lock in the app
Before you begin, remove the battery tab from your Bold Smart Lock to activate it (you will then see the inner button light up green).
To register your Bold Smart Lock, open the Bold app, click the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner and follow the steps of the installation wizard. It will guide you step by step through pairing your Bold Smart Lock with your Bold account.
Install your lock in the door
For the physical installation, refer to the detailed Installation Guide. This guide helps you ensure that you install the Bold Smart Lock correctly in the door.
Add users to your Bold Smart Lock
In the app, each Bold Smart Lock has a person icon to the left of the activation button. Here you can add, update, or remove users. You can invite new users by sharing an invitation link with them. You can share this link as a QR code or via SMS/email/WhatsApp and much more. Whatever works best for you.

Adjust settings
In the Bold app, you will find a settings icon to the right of the activation button for each lock. Here you can adjust various settings, such as:
- View device information, including the serial number and battery status.
- Turn the sound of the lock on or off.
- Set how long the lock remains active after unlocking.
- Enable auto-activation or set a backup PIN.
- Transfer ownership of the lock if necessary.
Change profile settings
Do you need to update your phone number or email address? Tap on the gear icon in the bottom-right corner, select 'My Account' and update your details. These are necessary for logging in and password recovery. You can also change your password or language preferences here.
