# How do you make sure Auto Entry works best on Android?
## Essential steps for optimising Auto Entry with your Bold smart lock on Android devices.
Auto Entry allows your Bold smart lock to unlock automatically as you approach, using the Bold app on your phone. To ensure this feature works optimally, follow these steps to set it up and troubleshoot any potential issues.
#### Optimising your settings
To maximise the accuracy and reliability of Auto Entry, adjust your phone's settings as follows:
**Permissions**
- **Bluetooth**: Set to "Always On" to ensure constant connectivity.
- **Location services**: Enable "Allow all the time" and turn on "Use precise location."
- **Nearby devices**: Set permissions to "Allow."
- **Permissions removal**: Go back to "App Info" and ensure "Remove permissions if app is unused" is switched off.
**Battery**
- **Battery optimisation**: Disable battery optimisation for the Bold app to ensure it runs efficiently in the background. The default setting is "Optimised," but this should be changed to "Unrestricted."
**Other tips**
- **Wi-Fi**: Keep Wi-Fi "Always on" as it helps determine the GPS location of your phone, which is crucial for Auto Entry.
- **Bold App**: Avoid terminating the app as it may cause Auto Entry to become less responsive.
